SUMMARY
Zipher is seeking talented, skilled, professional and entrepreneurial spirited individuals to join our team. The Medical Affairs Proposal Writer works closely with the Senior Director, Operations to support successful contracting and business development activities. The Proposal Writer drafts proposals for potential medical affairs projects. In this role, the Proposal Writer will have an important and measurable impact on Zipher’s ability to execute the company’s corporate goals. The Proposal Writer is primarily responsible for producing professionally written proposals that articulate the proposed work and calculate the appropriate pricing to demonstrate the Zipher value proposition.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acquire and maintain an in-depth understanding of Zipher service offerings and solutions
- Respond to all request for proposals (RFPs) and Statement of Work (SOW)
- Attend and participate in intake meetings or participate in close discussion with Project Lead to understand the client or prospect’s background, opportunity, and needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams or subject matter experts to prepare budget estimates
- Collaborate with legal specialists to draft proposals/contracts, as necessary
- Produce professionally written proposals that superbly articulate the value proposition and operational details
- Ensure the operational details address the client or prospect’s needs, outcomes, and feasibility of the proposed project
- Develop proposals using professional, accurate and straightforward language, graphics, or other visuals with a consistent tone that illustrate the level of quality Zipher brings
- Deliver completed proposals in a timely, professional, and credible manner under tight deadlines
- Edit proposals according to client or prospect feedback
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership and others
- With oversight, standardize and improve the proposal development process
- Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
- Help with reviewing products, services, and project ideas
- Help create strategies that help with proposal development
- Manage operational aspects of the contracting process
- Participate in and attend all required compliance trainings
- Follow all laws, rules, regulations, etc., including, but not limited to; laws, rules, regulations, codes, guidance documents and policies associated with or attributed to the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., FDA regulations, PhRMA Code), including compliance requirements and duties relating to: Zipher; Zipher clients and Lumanity (e.g., code of conducts, handbooks, policies, training materials, etc.).

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Academic Degree: BA/BS with a concentration in; English, Business, and/or Communications.
- Excellent written English language skills are essential.
- Proven skills in writing and editing proposal content within a complex business environment.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and work efficiently and effectively.
- Forensic attention to detail and meticulous proof-reading skills.
- Outstanding communication skills both oral and written.
- Proven time management skills, and the ability to collaborate and align with diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrative experience in achieving desired outcomes while ensuring accountability.
- Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Word & Powerpoint; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Have a full understanding, as well as the technical skills to communicate and work seamlessly in a virtual office environment.
- Participate as a resourceful team-player, with the ability to also work independently and be extremely effective.
- Ability to work under pressure when given tasks are vital to the organization
- Desire to learn pharmaceutical industry
- Pass all required background checks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Academic Degree: MS/MBA with a concentration in; English, Business, and/or Communications.
- Experience and knowledge of contract writing
- Experience of coordinating, managing and updating a knowledgebase system
- Portfolio of proposal writing samples
- Adept at MAC OS operating system.
- Minimum of two (2) years of increasing responsibility/experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs, medical communications, or other related agency.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, medical affairs, and the pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of pharma rules, regulatory law, guidelines, and applicable Codes (e.g., PhRMA Code, etc.).

This is a remote US based position.
Required Travel: 5% Required travel includes travel to Zipher Main office in Marion, Massachusetts potentially four to five times a year as well as potential travel to client on-site meetings.
